A New Message for a New Normal
BY KATIE CAVENDER
Over the past eight weeks you listened to the stay-at-home orders, and it paid off. The local COVID-19 (coronavirus) caseload in the hospital has plateaued, and the rate of growth of new cases in the community is declining. We still have a lot of work to do, but as the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has laid out a plan for phased reopening, we too will make a shift in how we provide care. We’ve taken extra precautions to ensure that you will receive the safest care possible:
Screen – All LVHN colleagues are screened before their shift begins.
Clean – Rooms, equipment and common surfaces are all sanitized before you receive care.
Distance – We rethought waiting rooms, visitation policies and patient interactions to increase distance between people when possible.
Protect – We require patients, visitors and colleagues to wear face coverings.
Stay safe. Stay strong.
Just as we are taking steps to ensure your care is safe, it’s important for you to continue the steps you’ve already taken to keep your community safe. Practice social distancing, wash your hands regularly and wear a cloth face mask when you are in places that make social distancing difficult. We’ll get through this together, but it’s going to take time. So as we embark on creating a new normal, we want you to “Stay safe. Stay strong.”
You can help spread the message
One way to help your community is remind people that we aren’t out of the woods yet. Many people are ready for life to go back to the way it was before the COVID-19 pandemic, but we need to create a new normal that involves new healthy habits. Update your profile picture with the “Stay strong. Stay safe.” avatar to remind your online community that together, we can do this.
