Visitors and staff entering Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) locations are screened for fever and symptoms of COVID-19. To start their work day, LVHN colleagues receive a ticket after they complete the screening. One colleague at Lehigh Valley Hospital–17th Street shared her ticket with us, which offers unexpected inspiration.

It’s the little things that matter most

On the back of Natasha Dresher’s screening ticket, she found a note.

“You are what makes this place meaningful!”

“Receiving a simple note like that just brightened my day,” says Dresher. “Despite anxiety at an all-time high during these tough times, it was so reassuring to know that colleagues are still building each other up, knowing that we are all in this together and we can’t do it without each other.

Communication is key

Major Natasha Dresher is an administrative fellow. She is part of a program called United States Air Force Education within Industry. She has served as a hospital administrator in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. Now, she’s spending 10 months with LVHN to learn from our leaders and to bring her expertise in practice management, medical readiness, and information technology to our organization.

Dresher has planned, participated and led numerous training exercises that help prepare the military for disaster situations.

“Communication is key during times like this,” she says. “Accurate and timely information must flow across all levels of the organization. Even though information changes daily, I’m impressed by how LVHN is responding to this pandemic, providing clear and continuous updates to both colleagues and our community.”
