LVHN ExpressCARE at Palmerton Now Open

Location provides access to second Carbon County ExpressCARE

Lehigh Valley, Pa. (Oct. 28, 2019) – Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) invited the community to tour the health network’s second ExpressCARE in Carbon County. Located in Palmerton, this second location is now available to the community about two months after ExpressCARE at Lehighton opened.

“We are excited to increase Carbon County’s access to care through the opening of ExpressCARE-Palmerton,” said David Burmeister, DO, Chair, Department of Emergency and Hospital Medicine. “ExpressCARE offers convenience for people who need walk-in care for common illnesses and minor injuries at a moment’s notice.”

Common reasons to visit an ExpressCARE include sprains and strains, cuts and lacerations, poison ivy, rashes, seasonal allergies, flu symptoms, bronchitis, ear infections, sore throat, and fever. The Palmerton location will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.

This facility is part of LVHN’s commitment to provide Carbon County with advanced medical care closer to where they live. LVHN outlined a plan in August which included two ExpressCARE locations, a hospital with all private rooms for inpatient care, and a medical office building. The health network expects to break ground on the hospital project next spring and opening is anticipated in the fall of 2021 pending municipal approvals.

Additional LVHN services available in Carbon County include LVPG Obstetrics and Gynecology−Lehighton and LVPG Pediatrics−Lehighton, both located at 281 North 12th St.; Rehabilitation Services−Lehighton at 2141 Blakeslee Blvd. Drive East; Health Network Laboratories at 1001 Mahoning St., Lehighton and 2591 PA-903 in Albrightsville; and LVPG Family Practice−Albrightsville at 2588 PA-903 in Albrightsville.
